Scary Scary!!!

So last night we had a little scare. We were over playing at Tara and Scotts house. I was playing on the floor with Brinlee while the boys were playing xbox and all the sudden Brinlee started having a seizure. Well we think it was a seizure. She got this really scared look on her face and then her body tighten up and she started shaking for like 5 seconds. When it was over she was totally fine and back to normal. I was freaking out and crying of course because we had know idea what was happening. So all last night every time I looked at her my eyes would swell up and I seriously couldn't control myself. I looked in on her sleeping so many times I am surprised she slept at all. The thought of something bad happening to my child was unbearable. I can't imagine having a child sick with cancer or something life threatening. When I called my doctor he set me up with a specialist so we spent the morning in the doctors office. The specialist said that she looked great and I shouldn't worry, she may never have one again, but I got some good advice if it does. We are going in for an EEG in the next few weeks, but things look good. I am so grateful it wasn't any worse that it was. I am grateful that Kenny and his Dad could give my baby a blessing and help me not panic. I als have to say that I have the best pediatrician in the world. Also I am so grateful for my baby girl.

The idea of anything bad happening to our children is the worst nightmare. And the people that DO have bad/sad things happen to their children, my heart breaks for them. I have seen it in my own family and it is the worst trial on earth, hands down.
I am glad that your baby Brinlee is okay.

So scary! I am always amazed at how much we can worry about our babies. You can't wrap your mind around it before you have them, but it is instant worry once they are born.
I can't even watch the news because it breaks my heart when stuff happens to kids. We will keep Brinlee (and you) in our prayers.

I do not even know how I would handle that! How scary! I am glad that your doctor appointment went well.

Wow Ashlee, that really gave me the creeps! I am glad everything is ok! My brother Travis had adolescant epilepsy (random seisures as a kid) and eventually grew out of them. They were always scary. We too will keep you guys in our prayers!

That gives me the chills. I would probably have handled it the same way you did. Thank goodness she is okay.

Super scary! Max had several of those and Elle had one just a few weeks ago. Luckily we have learned to chill out when it happens and examine what they are doing - our doctor gave us some good guide lines as to when to freak and run to the emergency room and when to just monitor them. But it definately looks very scary and freaks you out. I'm glad she is okay.

At least she is better now.
And by the way, Kristin isn't a super proud Canadan. There isn't a Canadan flag hanging outside her house. And no, it is not bad that Kenny laughed at my "F" bomb. He is the one who was pushing me to start cussing in the first place.

My brother in law had seisures when he was little and my mother in law found that when she went away from all that "sugar free" stuff (used real sugar instead of the equal or what not) they went away. Just a thought.

That sounds so scary. I have the WORST reaction when scary stuff happens with the kids. So hard to control. I am glad she is ok. Maybe you four should stop hanging out. Seems like there are always choking stories or scray stories with the kids when you guys get together....hahaha

That is so scary. I was just at a training for teachers and they told us not to turn the lights on and off in the classroom because it could cause kids to have a seizure. I had never heard of that before. I wonder if the xbox game had the same effect?

Hi Ashlee! I've been reading your blog for about a week now (after finding Tara's through Sarah's, and yours through hers). I didn't realize how many people in the ward were bloggers! Love your sites, and it's fun to have new ones to read. Can I add you to my friends list?

PS - I'm so looking forward to serving with you. I love YW!!!
